50th Anniversary Celebration Concludes
With the Dedication of
a Time Capsule
August 16, 2005
On August 16, 2005, New Jersey Medical School
will conclude a yearlong 50th anniversary campaign with the
dedication of a time capsule containing memorabilia from the
school. Faculty, staff and students provided suggestions for
items that would reflect New Jersey Medical School during its
Jubilee year such as a white coat, journal articles by faculty
members, photos of the campus, University publications, textbooks,
ID cards and parking hangtags.
The dedication, which will take place in the
Plaza between the Medical Science Building and Twelfth Avenue,
will coincide with the school's annual White Coat Ceremony,
an official welcome for first-year medical students during which
they receive their first white coats.

The capsule, a gift from the New Jersey Medical School

instructions for the capsule to be opened in 2055 during the school's
100th anniversary.
