Once an application file is complete, the screening committee will review the applicant's file. If the screening committee determines that the applicant should be interviewed, the Office of Admissions notifies and formally invites the applicant for an interview.
The NJMS Office of Admissions makes every effort to schedule interview dates and times that are convenient to applicants. Applicants are interviewed by medical school faculty and administrators who will discuss personal and educational achievements, motivation, drive, ability, background, personality, long term goals and extracurricular activities. Interviews vary in length but generally last about one hour. If you have been invited for an interview and require additional information, please contact the Office of Admissions at njmsadmiss@umdnj.edu
New Jersey Medical School also offers interviewing applicants an opportunity for an additional interview with one of our medical students. If you elect, we will match you with one of our motivated students so that he or she can ascertain a deeper understanding of your social character and role at NJMS as a student doctor. Due to our highly involved student body, and the limited number of student interviewers, all applicants are not guaranteed a student interview. However, we will do our best to accomidate as many as possible. If you are interested in a student interview, please contact our NJMS Student Interview Coordinators at NJMS Student Interviewing with your interview date and time so that an appointment can be scheduled.
