Education
The
Graduate program in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology offers
a comprehensive program of graduate studies leading to the Master of Science
and Doctor of Philosophy degrees through the Graduate
School of Biomedical Sciences , a program for graduate students anticipating
careers in basic and applied research and teaching. Joint M.D./Ph.D. andD.M.D./Ph.D.
degree programs also are offered in conjunction with the New
Jersey Medical School and the New
Jersey Dental School , respectively. The programs include formal
training in basic and advanced biochemistry and molecular biology (through course
work and lab rotation) supplemented by courses in immunology, pharmacology,
statistics, and computer sciences. After successful completion of the course
work, students may select an advisor for intensive thesis work, which usually
