SFHCCStudent Family Health Care Center

Established in 1967 to meet the needs of the medically underserved residents of the Newark community, this student run clinic offers free, quality health care to the community regardless of age, gender of ability to pay. Services include physicial examinations, chronic disease management, gynecological care, pediatric care and psychosocial counseling. All services are provided by volunteer medical studentsss under the supervision of board-certified family physicians.

The clinic is conveniently located on the UMDNJ-Newark campus. It is open two evenings a week (making it available to patients who work during the day), and office visits are scheduled by appointment. Walk-ins are accepted if time permits. There is no charge for an office visit, however, patients may be billed for laboratory and diagnostic services. A charity care program is available for those who do not have the ability to pay for these services.
