Menopause
Medem for Hormone
Replacement Therapy - Therapeutic Options
Hormone replacement therapy should be considered to relieve vasomotor symptoms,
genital urinary tract atrophy, and mood and cognitive disturbances, as well
as to prevent osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. It also may be considered
to help prevent colon cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and adult tooth loss. Before
therapy is instituted, a thorough medical evaluation is appropriate. The medical
history should focus on contraindications to estrogen and precautions against
risk factors and side effects.
