Welcome to the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics homepage.
Our department has a long tradition of excellence in research and teaching.
Research programs led by departmental faculty members provide opportunities
for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate research in exciting areas
of contemporary biomedical science.
Together with the Public Health Research Institute (formerly of New
York City) and the National Tuberculosis Center of the New Jersey Medical
School, the department is a founding member of the International Center
for Public Health (ICPH). Our relocation into the new state-of-the-art
ICPH research facility in 2002 has provided us with beautiful, well-equipped
and highly functional laboratory space. We have also been able to partner
with ICPH members to develop joint graduate programs and research collaborations.
We also continue to participate in other NJMS joint programs, including
the Center for Human and Molecular Genetics and the Center for Emerging
and Re-emerging Pathogens.
As you peruse our Web site you will find information about our graduate
and postdoctoral research programs as well as descriptions of our faculty's
ongoing research projects.
