Research Education

The neurosurgical department also has a full-time neurosurgical laboratory in addition to specialty labs in Traumatic Brain Injury, Spine Biomechanics, Spinal Cord Injury, and Cerebrovascular Computational studies. The Neurosurgical Laboratory is headed by an internationally known researcher, Dr. Hreday Sapru. It is renowned for its investigation of the role of neurotransmitters in the autonomic nervous system and in central regulatory mechanisms. Residents may participate in this laboratory research during their assigned research period, or they may seek other experience under suitable supervision.
