Spine

Spinal surgery is a rapidly evolving specialty with new treatments
continually becoming available. As academic spine surgeons at the New Jersey Medical School, Drs. Michael Vives and Saad Chaudhary stay on the forefront of these new treatments so that patients have access to the contemporary, yet proven techniques. They work closely with teams of physicians that include rehabilitation specialists (Physiatrists), Therapists, Pain Management experts, and Neurologists to coordinate a patient's treatment regimen.

Dr. Michael Vives has extensive experience in the operative and nonoperative treatment for a wide range of spinal disorders including disc herniations, spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, scoliosis, spinal fractures/spinal cord injury, and spinal tumors. In addition to his own clinical and research experience, his positions on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and his Chairmanship of the Scientific Program for Spine at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons provide him a unique perspective on the spectrum of treatments available.

Dr. Saad Chaudhary offers comprehensive spine care relying on his unique background with expertise of both Orthopaedic Spine and Neurosugical Spine Surgery. His clinical interests include the evaluation and management (surgical and non-srugical) of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders. He has dedicated interest in minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS), scar-tissue reduction, and motion preservation surgery including artificial disc replacement. He also specializes in the surgical treatment for complex spinal deformity and scoliosis, spinal tumors, spinal fractures and failed spine surgeries.
