Dental Physiology
The Physiology course presents the principles of human physiology by considering
the general functions of cells and the operation and integration of specific
human organ systems. Areas important for the practice of dentistry are emphasized.
The Physiology course consists
of seven units:
• Cell Membrane Physiology
• Neurophysiology
• Cardiovascular Physiology
• Respiratory Physiology
• Renal Physiology and Body Fluids
• Endocrinology
• Gastrointestinal Physiology

In this course, you will be able to: • apply basic biomedical,
behavioral and clinical science knowledge to the management
of patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment or referral.
• apply critical thinking skills to patient care and management.
• select, obtain and interpret laboratory tests. • select,
obtain and interpret other appropriate diagnostic tests or procedures.
• recognize health conditions that may modify or limit level of treatment.
