Name of activity: Geographic Information System Mapping
Project leader and email address: William Halperin, MD, MPH,
DrPH, halperwe@umdnj.edu
Brief statement of mission and/or vision:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provides an ideal platform
for the mapping of health related information and their analyses in relation
to population, surrounding services and the natural environment. It allows for
visual presentation of epidemiological data revealing trends and interrelationships
that would be more difficult to demonstrate in a tabular format.
