Clinical Oriented Quantitative Methods Training

Goal: To provide clinically oriented biostatistical, epidemiologic
and research design training opportunities for residents, fellows and junior
faculty in NJMS � UMDNJ. Training in statistical and epidemiologic designs,
quantitative methods of clinical research.

Courses: Two training opportunities are currently provided:
• One day Quantitative Methods for Clinical Researchers
Workshop. This is offered approximately every three months. It is free to residents,
fellows and faculty. The workshop provides a quick review of biostatistics and
epidemiologic concepts and then overviews their application in the context of
writing and developing research grants for NIH.
• Certificate in Clinical Epidemiology. This is
in development and consists of five courses that provide an overview of how
to practically identify and develop research and research grant opportunities.
These are Introduction to Biostatistics, Design of Experiments, Introduction
to Epidemiology, Clinical Trials Management and Introduction to IRB Issues.
