Mission

The New Jersey Medical School Department of Psychiatry strives to:

• Provide excellence in the education of medical students, residents, interns and other healthcare practitioners.

• Serve the diverse populations of Newark, as well as the greater northern New Jersey and metropolitan communities, through our inpatient and outpatient services.

• Advance knowledge through innovative, basic, clinical and psychosocial research, as well as community and practitioner education.
