Factors Considered

Other factors considered include whether the applicant:

• comes from a group that is racially/ethnically underrepresented in medicine or dentistry (as defined by each site);
• comes from a disadvantaged background (financial and/or educational);
• has demonstrated interest in issues affecting underserved populations;
• is a local and/or regional resident;
• submits a compelling personal statement; and/or
• receives strong letters of recommendation
