AMWA
is an organization dedicated to both spreading information about women's
health issues and furthering women in medicine. Throughout the year AMWA
sponsors speakers, an elective, and Awareness Months, as well as outside
projects such as Power Suit and phoning newly accepted women. We are
welcoming to both women and men, as women's issues impact all of us. |

a national organization that aims to address those issues important to

Arts Club was created with the realization that many medical students have
previous experiences in the arts and creative talents which often go
unnoticed in their medical school years. Art and medicine have often been intertwined,
and therefore it seemed important that student artists have an outlet to

The
Ballroom Dance Interest Group holds meetings where members learn the basic
steps to tango, foxtrot, waltz, swing, cha-cha, rumba, samba, salsa, and merengue. Interested members are able to perform a dance
routine they have learned at the meetings for the follies show in the spring.
Last year, the group performed a tango and a swing combination routine. For
those not interested in performance, it is still a great place to learn some
steps to use at a wedding or at a club. |

Rush Surgical Society is an organization that fosters student interest in
general surgery and surgical sub-specialties. Through out the school year, we
bring in surgeons from various fields to discuss their areas of expertise. At
the end of the year, a panel session of fourth year students is held to

BLHO-NJMS chapter is a cohesive group of latino and
non-latino members. The organization continues to
grow as we welcome new members each year.Our goals
include academic and social support, community involvement, and sensitization

geared toward promoting student education and providing access to resources
in the field of family practice. The main focus of the organization
encompasses an emphasis on interests of the students in regards to current
issues in family practice, residency training, and opportunities that exist

LGBTPM
seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment for LGBT medical students,
to advocate for the inclusion of LGBT issues in medical education, and to
break down the prejudices and misconceptions concerning LGBT people that act
as a barrier to education and patient care. |

Medical
Students for Choice (MSFC) is dedicated to ensuring that women receive the
full range of reproductive healthcare choices. MSFC recognizes that one the
greatest obstacles to safe and legal abortion is the absence of trained
providers. As medical students, we work to make reproductive health care,
including abortion, a part of standard medical education and residency
training. |

New Moms Program is a prenatal advocacy program in which first and second
year medical students are paired with young, expectant mothers in their first
trimester of pregnancy. Students serve as a support system for their patients
during prenatal visits and share in the birthing experience. For the students
