The
NJMS chapter of the American Medical Women's Association fashioned pretty
paper bras as a show of their support for breast cancer research and the
Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure. The bras, strung over the
escalators in the Medical Science Building, did a great job in drawing
attention to the cause, and were also available to those making a donation.
According to AMWA co-president Michelle Wilkens, the project was an out-of-the-box
way to generate interest for the campaign. The approach definitely worked:
as of the end of October, donations from the NJMS community totaled $500.
