NJMS Participates in the Komen Race for a Cure on May 4

Get ready for a Sunday morning walk for a great cause. The North Jersey affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation is holding its first Walk/Run in Essex County. The event will take place in Newark at Branch Brook Park on Sunday, May 4.

The Foundation of UMDNJ encourages employees to support the cause and attend the race. Join the NJMS team by visiting www.komennorthjersey.org or by calling The Foundation of UMDNJ at 973-972-2486. Registration is $25 per person and, after April 21st, the cost increases to $35.

Gloria Gaynor, who is known for her hit single, "I Will Survive," is the Honorary Chair and Spokesperson.

Now entering its 25th anniversary, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the largest series of athletic, educational, and fundraising events in the world. Nancy Brinker established the organization after her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. It has become the largest source of non-profit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer worldwide.
