Dr. Dorian Wilson Featured on NBC Today Show

Transplantation and trauma surgeon Dorian Wilson, MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, was featured on NBC's Today show on Sunday, November 12. This nationally broadcast segment focused on the need for increased organ donation among minorities, particularly African Americans. According to the United Network for Organ Sharing, in 2005 just 15 percent of all donors were African American and 14 percent were Hispanic.

Dr. Wilson speaks often to community groups about organ donation and this past Sunday, he appeared at a local church as part of the National Donor Sabbath. The annual event, held this year on November 11-13, was coordinated locally by the New Jersey Sharing Network. During weekend services, faith communities in New Jersey and across the country listened to sermons that highlighted the critical need for donors.
