Individuals and families of Columbus Hospital and St. Michael's Medical Center's Obstetrics/Gynecology services are seen for genetic counseling for a variety of indications: advanced maternal age, family history of a genetic disorder, carriers of genetic disorders, and abnormal prenatal testing. A genetic counselor is on-site one day per week. Individuals in need of a clinical geneticist consultation are referred to the Center for Human and Medical Genetics in Newark.

Genetic services are available three days per week for women who attend the Prenatal and Family Planning clinics.
