Name: Norma Diamond, MSW

Counselor
Background: Ms.
Diamond received her B.A. from Hunter College in 1951, graduate
training in psychology at City College of New York and completed
a Master of Social Work degree at the Hunter College School of Social
Work, New York City in 1976.
Ms. Diamond has been with the Division
of Human Genetics as a genetic counselor since 1971 and was appointed
an Associate in Pediatrics by the NJ Medical School. She has functioned
as a consultant in genetic counseling since 1998. Her responsibilities
have involved primarily general counseling and currently she is
the coordinator of genetic services at the prenatal clinics of the
Trinitas Health System, associated with the Center for Human and
Molecular Genetics.
Professional Interests and
Activities: Ms. Diamond's major areas of interest are
PKU, Tay- Sachs and Turner syndrome education and support services.
She has served on the Board of the Metropolitan Turner Syndrome
Association, as an advisor to the PKU Program of Northern and Central
New Jersey and has coordinated the NJ Medical School's Tay-Sachs
Community Screening Program.
