Title: Medical Geneticist

Background: Dr. Pedro recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1991 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Medical degree in 1995 from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed a combined residency program from 1995 to 1999 in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Dr. Pedro began his post graduate career as a private practitioner in the Ironbound section of Newark and in July 2001, joined the Center for Human and Molecular Genetics for a fellowship in clinical and biochemical genetics.

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the New Jersey Medical School and a Medical Geneticist in the University Regional Metabolic Treatment Center. Languages: Fluent in oral and written Portuguese and fluent in oral Spanish.

Professional Interests: Dr. Pedro is equally interested in adult and pediatric genetics. He is providing clinical services at University Hospital.
