Molecular Pathology & Immunology

Program Overview and Mission Statement

The Ph.D. Program in Molecular Pathology and Immunology offers a comprehensive doctoral program for graduate students and provides both didactic and laboratory-based training in the mechanisms of disease at the cellular, molecular and immunological levels. It is directed towards students anticipating careers in biomedical research, education, pharmaceuticals, and scientific administration. The core curriculum consists of courses in molecular and cellular biology, cellular pathology, molecular and cellular immunology, general pathology, and grant writing. Advanced elective courses in areas relevant to the student's specific research interests are offered from both within the department as well as from other departments. Course work is supplemented by seminars, journals clubs and research rotations designed to keep students abreast of the current literature and recent advances in molecular pathology and immunology.

Research Interests

Molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis
