Cellular Pathology -- PATH 5100
Welcome to the Cellular Pathology course
webiste.
This course provides the student with a fundamental in-depth understanding of current concepts of cell biology and of basic types of pathological processes at the cellular level. Microscopic, submicroscopic, and molecular models of both normal and diseased cells will be critically examined and discussed. Special attention will be given to normal and pathological changes associated with cellular organelles and with alterations, in various disease states, in cellular processes such as cell injury and cell death, mitosis and meiosis, DNA repair, transcription and signal transduction.
The course will consist of lectures and students will be graded on the basis of two examinations. Classes will be held on Mondays from 4 - 6:30 pm in the Medical Sciences Building, Room C-555.
