Main Page  |    Schedule  |  Faculty Contact BIOC 5100Q: MOLECULAR ONCOLOGY Course Description: The course will review the molecular basis of carcinogenesis. The metabolism of cancer cells and changes in genes and gene transcription in cancer will be considered. Biochemical aspects of cancer chemotherapy will be discussed. The course will conclude with strategies for cancer prevention. Each of the 2 exams will contribute 50% to the total grade. The recommended text is Cancer Biology by Robert A Weinberg, Garland Science, 2007.
