Pharmacology & Physiology Students and Fellows Earn Coveted Awards A group of graduate students within the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology has a lot to smile about after garnering an unprecedented number of coveted fellowship awards, according to Suann Klechinski, the department's director of administration. The department, which focuses on molecular, cellular and organ systems and how they are altered by pharmacological agents, is home to the eight students and post-doctoral fellows. Under the guidance of faculty, the students and fellows obtained funding awards for their respective research projects. |

Dr. Newlon Named Associate Dean For Faculty Affairs at NJMS The UMDNJ Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Carol S. Newlon, PhD, as the new Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at NJMS. Newlon will provide oversight and high-level decision making for the Faculty Affairs Division of the Office of the Vice Dean. The role will require focusing on the advancement and retention of faculty, especially as it relates to faculty and personnel issues such as appointment, promotion, and granting of tenure. |
Gold Humanism Honor Society Induction and White Coat Ceremony NJMS faculty, students and staff welcomed 177 first-year students who participated in the school's 17th annual White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 11.

Libraries Go Mobile The UMDNJ University Libraries have created a new mobile website to support the mobile information needs of faculty, students and staff by providing access to an extensive array of digital information resources. The project was funded by a grant from the National Library of Medicine (NLM). Via the mobile Website (see full article), all UMDNJ users can gain access to the University Libraries' online catalog, and other information resources on a smart phone connected to the Internet. |
