Angel
The University uses Angel as its online learning system. Instructors use Angel to supplement classroom lectures and labs. You can access Angel by logging onto the Portal at my.umdnj.edu and looking under the “Education” Tab or by going directly to https://umdnj.angellearning.com/ . Audience Response System
ARS allows audiences and students to participate in presen-tations or lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions using a Response Card keypad or “clicker”. EMS
The NJMS EMS allows course directors to set up lotteries, evaluations, and grade-books. It also allows students to submit on-line evaluations and to access their course schedule & grades. EMS is accessible through the UMDNJ portal within the Education tab via http://my.umdnj.edu . NJMS is an official iTunesU partner. We are Podcasting most courses for our 1st and 2nd year students. By Podcasting our lectures, students can review lecture information in either MP3 (Audio) or MP4 (Video with Voice) format. If you do not have iTunes on your computer – take a few moments and download it for free at http://www.apple.com/itunes/ . To see your course podcasts, log into the NJMS intranet https://njmsintra.umdnj.edu/mbm/myprofile/index.cfm using your CORE account. This will take you to our private and secure iTunesU site. Meditrek
To ensure that students are seeing an assortment of patients and that all students are receiving approximately the same diversity of experiences, NJMS has contracted with Meditrek to develop an electronic log system to record and provide reports to clerkship directors on all students' clinical experiences. During the patient encounter, information can be entered on a PDA, smart-phone, or on a computer through a web browser at: http://www.meditrek.com. Virtual Microscopy
The pathology laboratory portion of DPPT and the histology laboratory portion of ISF will utilize Virtual Microscopy. This is a computer based technology that eliminates the need for microscopes and slide boxes. Pathological and histological specimens that were fixed, sectioned, and stained will be available for viewing on a computer screen.
