Important Instructions
- Meditrek Forms allows you to store data locally on your PDA when you don't have access to the Internet. Later, you can synchronize your PDA with the web server directly, or via a desktop computer, and upload your data to the web.
- If your PDA is not web-enabled, please make sure the synchronization software that came with it is installed on your PC, and it is functioning properly. Also please read the instruction booklet that accompanied your PDA device.
- Please check the system time of your PDA, and correct it if necessary. Your schedule-driven forms depend on the system time of your PDA.
Note: Do not install any of these files on a storage card.
Note: The Java 2 (required for Palms only) and SuperWaba installations have to be performed only during the initial setup.
Requirements
- A handheld device running a Palm OS version 2, 3.1 or higher with an 8-bit screen, and Palm OS 4 or 5 with a 16-bit screen, with 40KB of free memory.
- Meditrek version 2.8 and above
- A PC running Windows 95 or higher and capable of connecting to the Internet. This PC should have 500KB of free disk space. HotSync software installed for each Palm user who will use this PC to HotSync.
Installation Process
- Superwaba (Initial Setup Only)
SuperWaba is required to enable your PDA to run the Meditrek Forms. SuperWaba is a portable subset of Java that has been optimized for use on devices with small screens. You will have to install it on your PDA only once during the initial setup.

On the left panel under Standard Palm Setup, select SuperWaba.
- Forms (Initial Setup Only)
Download the following files according to your grade level, Click here. (You will need to login.)
On the left panel under Standard Palm Setup, select Forms.
Note: Very large file, please be patient when downloading and installing.
- After download, in your Palm Desktop add these files to the bottom of the Install Now List.
- Next, synchronize your Palm.
Your Meditrek Forms should now be ready for use on your Palm.
- Schedule Update (3rd year class only)
If you need to update ONLY your Schedule click here. (You will need to login)
On the left panel under Standard Palm Setup, select Schedule Update.
- After download, in your Palm Desktop add this file to the Install Now List.
- Synchronize your Palm.
Your Meditrek Forms should now be using the new schedule on your Palm.
IVA. Host PC Setup
Java 2
To upload your logs to the Web Server, you need a Host PC equipped with the Java* 2 Runtime Environment.
Click here (www.java.com ) to automatically install it.
Answer "Yes" if prompted to trust Sun Microsystems.
When completed you will see a screen with something like this:
Note: The Java 2 installation on your Host PC has to be performed only during the initial setup.
Upload Utility
Meditrek Data Upload Utility will enable you to upload your logs to the web server.
First you enter data in your PDA device. Then perform a HotSync operation with your PDA and PC. Then upload your logs by running this utility on your PC.
To download the utility and instruction

On the left panel under Host PC Setup, click Upload Utility. Double click on the hyperlink “Download Meditrek Data Upload Utility (V 2.8.5).” |
IV B. Host Mac Setup
Note: The Java* 2 Runtime Environment is built into your operating system, you do not need to install it.
Meditrek Data Upload Utility will enable you to upload your logs to the web server. First you enter data in your PDA device. Then perform a HotSync operation with your PDA and Mac. Then upload your logs by running this utility on your Mac.

- On the left panel under Host MAC Setup, select Upload Utility.
- Double click on the hyperlink “Download Meditrek Data Upload Utility for Mac (V 2.8.5).”
