Preparations are underway for the 2010 Summer Student Research Program.
The goal of this program is to provide an outstanding research opportunity to
entering and first-year medical students as well as undergraduates in the combined
BS/MD seven year program. This program is offered as a non-credit elective;
therefore, students are considered trainees. As trainees, they should be involved
in research activities that provide meaningful training and educational experiences
and the opportunity to learn the concepts and technical skills of the field.
To assist students in choosing a research project, faculty are invited to submit
projects describing research opportunities available in either laboratory or
clinical research settings. After reviewing program guidelines, please download
and complete the project description form.
Projects involving human or animal subjects MUST have IRB
and/or IACUC approval. Students will not be allowed to enroll
in projects that do not have the appropriate approvals.
Sponsors whose project's fall in the NOT Eligible category as per Program Guidelines
can still submit their projects via the Work-study option. Click
here for more details.
All projects should be submitted electronically
to deanle@umdnj.edu . Paper copies
will not be accepted.
NOTE: Faculty
that are inviting High School Students as Interns must follow the University-wide
approval procedures. See High School Summer Interns link above for the
approval process and forms.
PLEASE RETURN COMPLETED FORMS NO LATER THAN DECEMBER
31st.
